[Poem] My Lord is my refuge

I walked barefooted
Feeling the waters that soothed
The tired life I had gone through
With life pages I already threw.

Friends I have gathered overtime
From people who gave me their time
Who made me feel loved and secured
To not bother if I would get stirred.

One day I woke up with fear
As the people I thought were sincere
Who promised to stand by me
No matter the situation may be.

I heard that loud sound
Of something I did not know would abound.
I ran towards where they are
But there found the doors all barred.

I feared for my life
I fear I was all in strife
I run like nowhere to go
Like I feel I was ready to go.

I sat down and thought for a while.
I didn’t even know how to smile.
I could not stop panicking
That all I resorted to do is praying.

Then a soft voice I heard from above
“You are my child that I love.
I will keep you safe and warm
No matter everywhere there’s harm.”

I stopped and got startled
Like I was put aside to get saddled.
Should I trust the voice I just heard
And go follow like I’m part of an herd?

He spoke again to me
Through my heart my Lord oh Thee
I thought I have been forsaken
Left alone in the dark I was shaken.

Indeed you are my rock
Let no one give you one mock.
For You are my Lord, my refuge,
Your reign in me and earth is huge.

[Poem] HE is my God

As the day approaches its end,
And the sun sets at the serene sky,
I come to You with my knees bend,
To bless You oh Most High.

Every song I sing,
Brings new life, new breed.
I see death lost its sting,
As You gave Your life for me indeed.


I am at awe of You,
Of the love You have shown me.
No exact words to describe You
But Your greatness above everything in me.

Reign in me, oh Lord.
I ask You to lead and reign in my life.
As I celebrate You and Your word,
Touch me and bring goodness to my life.

My God, I surrender my life to Thee.
I lift up anything that contradicts Your will.
Let Your lamp shine on my way and in me,
So in Your presence I can be still.

[Poem] Speak to me, Lord

Speak to me,
Speak to me, oh Lord.
Let Your love run through me,
In my heart You speak to me, oh Lord.

My eyes and ears are open
So ready for Your divine word.
Though I come to You less than often,
Still You give Your love as my reward.

Illuminate Yourself in me,
Let Your light shine within me.
Let the darkness in me be gone
As Your work at the cross is done.

I thank You with all my life.
I give glory to You my God.
Though I lived my life in strife,
You are there to liberate me, oh God.

I will forever praise You.
I will exalt You and only You.
For You deserve all the praises that I sing
For it is You, the love that I bring.

[Poem] YOU, Oh Lord

As I write this poem for You
Allow me to pour my heart to You.
Let the words glorify You always
In every situation, in so many different ways.

I stand and breathe everyday
With the grace You give every way.
No matter how hard the things may be
You are there to set me free.

What You have shown to me
As You bled for us to see
The beauty of love there is unbounded
That even a huge wall may be astounded.

You are greater than anything
Bigger than what to them is everything.
With love I declare to world
It's You whom I serve, Oh Lord.

[Poem] The God of Greatness

Questions just popped in my head
Those were the things I did not dare to think of.
Read as the words are placed in each verse
And listen as my heart out pours to You.
What shall I do tomorrow?
Will I survive another day under stress?
Why life is too short that he died so young?
Why am I still single?
Will I get married and have my own kids?
Why do I worry so much?
Lord, listen to me,
Your child comes to You to seek for an answer.
It was I oh Lord
Who feels so unheard.
You spoke to me, "My child,
Cast all your cares unto Me
And I will sustain you.
Have faith My child
For favors shall come to those who seek My face."
I am at awe like a child waiting
Just waiting for the favors her father promised her to bring.
If I have an earthly father who can make this happen
What more can my Heavenly Father bless me with?
As I said, He will bless me and increase my faith in Him.
For there is nothing in this world that my God cannot do
I am very sure that the impossible is POSSIBLE to Him.
But for whatever there is that He has planned for me,
I am keeping my faith in Him
And believes that He wants nothing but the best for me.

[Poem] I rejoice in the Lord

I will bless the Lord my God,
I will rejoice in Him most high,
Though fig trees don't bud,
Nor grapes on the vine.

Your Name will be exalted,
On a high place You are seated,
Though the enemy may try to steal it,
Your power shall overshadow and crush it.

In You, my feet are set on a rock,
So steady and sturdy I stand before You,
I cannot be moved nor can be pushed over,
With both eyes just fixed on You.

I worship You on Lord,
And forever be thankful of You.
For in You my life is secured,
In You I found the peace my heart longed for.
