What are we?? A Fake or A Real friend??

I received an email the other night about the difference between Real and Fake Friends. I thought it was one of those usual forwarded messages I get everyday but there was more to it. It was everything that I wanted to say to describe my friendship, my 4 year old friendship with two wonderful women in my life --- Gin and Anny.

I just wanna share the whole poem with all of you and see if you or your friends are for real or for reel. :-)

FAKE FRIENDS: Never ask for food.
REAL FRIENDS: is the reason you have no food.

FAKE FRIENDS: Call your parents Mr / Mrs
REAL FRIENDS: Call your parents DAD/MOM

FAKE FRIENDS: never seen you cry
REAL FRIENDS: cry with you

FAKE FRIENDS: Borrow your stuff for a few days then give it back
REAL FRIENDS: keep your stuff so long they forget it's yours

FAKE FRIENDS: know a few things about you
REAL FRIENDS: Could write a book about you with direct quotes from you

FAKE FRIENDS: Will leave you behind if that is what the crowd is doing
REAL FRIENDS: Will kick the whole crowds butt that left you

FAKE FRIENDS: Would knock on your front door
REAL FRIENDS: Walk right in and say 'I'M HOME!'

FAKE FRIENDS: Are for awhile
REAL FRIENDS: Are for life

FAKE FRIENDS: will talk bad to the person who talks bad about you.
REAL FRIENDS: Will knock the person out that talked bad about you

FAKE FRIEND S: Would ignore this
REAL FRIENDS: Will send this to all their real friends and hope to get it back!

------------

Reading through this poem, it struck me that I am the 7th comparison. Gin told me that she is the 4th and Anny is the 5th. Realizing that we have been together for 4 wacky years made me think, what's next after this? Now that Anny is leaving us behind to pursue her maternal career (hehehehe...), what's up with me and Gin? What's up with our friendship? We promised to each other that no matter what happens, we will remain friends even when our hair turns to gray, we will still be together laughing out loud minus those sparkling white teeth.

To my dear friends, thank you for the gift of YOU. Enough for being mushy but I am truly blessed to have good people like you to crowd me for there is never a crowd when your friends surround you.

I love you Gin and Anny!

Are we an asset or a liability?!?

Back in the olden days, women are set aside and men are given all the society privileges. Probably that was one of the reasons why feminist groups pushed for the equality of men and women because they got lesser and lesser opportunities to show what they've got. How many of our grannies have been a victim of domestic violence or maltratment from a man?!? I'm pretty sure that the numbers are pretty high but they were afraid to fight back. Those days, men govern and overpower women and they should take charge as if we they were born to follow orders.

People are getting smarter and these maltreated women sent their daughters to good schools to get good and well compensated jobs and to get a good man as their better half. But society talks and dictates what should our place in the community is. We are nowhere but home. Some women became liberated but not enough to show that they overpower their men for in our society...it's all about men and their machismo.

Circa '80, '90 and 2000 came, women became bolder, smarter than ever, wiser and more outspoken and all of a sudden, our small voice have been heard and being listened to. Before, I can compare our ideas or thoughts to murmurs and whispers in the wind that no one seemed to bother what we're trying to tell them.

I may say that there was really a turn of the century when year 2000 kicked in. The population of women graduating from college and those that are getting good position in companies are overwhelming! The numbers are pretty much promising for women and the number of men getting off from work and wait-for-mommy type of daddies are not too far from their numbers. The opportunities are unending and the ladder going up is getting higher that women one by one occupying seats that were once seated by men.We all thought that it is our asset but being there at the top would also mean big liability. WHY!?!? It's because our personal lives are now at risk.

Some men are proud to have a partner who is very sucessful but most of them...they just simply cannot be proud of it. Some women think that they can find a good partnet now that they have the power --- to be recognized and of course, to choose. But that's not how life is engineered! Men goes away or maybe, stays away from successful women because they think they are little in some ways. While women exerts the effort to do a good job for their men to be proud of them, these male species get very grumpy for they get a lot teasing and insults from their friends. For them, it's like having a viagra (women) but they cannot seem to get it up (men)! Then they'd think that their women are now threats to themselves. They fear that their women will now bring home the bacon - a real one- and will now become the breadwinner. what I do not and will not understand is the fact that they are threatened by the product of our hard labor. We've worked hard to be wherever we are and they think it's a problem!?!? What a loser!

For our elders, they think that it's cheap for some women to go out at night and meet up with guys. Hell yeah! True enough but don't they think that we successful women can only find their probable mates in the bar? Because these men in the first place are afraid of rejections - so they end up with losers - instead of being proud with a successful woman! We cannot have dates anymore because we're successful. That's a big and filthy BS! Haaaaaayyy...I'm keeping my cool but I cannot seem to understand why are we being punished by this set up. That women are expected to be the inferior of men. I beg to disagree with that! Can't we all be equal with equal rights to love and to know what's and who's best for us?

We all want to love and be loved and it should not have any label to it. Equality means you and me - no if's...no but's...

One of the most embarrassing moments of my life...

So last Monday, after being with mah friends, Anny and Gin, I went ahead to meet mi Hielo to pick up those giveaways for JB's birthday. When we headed to the place, the girl who handed the mugs told us that we still lack P500. So I said, it was not our fault! They did not coordinate with us so we are paying for it. So I looked for the message they sent to me then after locating it, I called the number and started talking feircefully. The conversation went like...

ME: Eto ba yung sa mug?
Guy: Uh yung sa mug? Umalis na kanina pa yung sister ko...
ME: Ok..kasi sabi nung babae dito kulang pa daw kami ng P500. Sabi nyo P35 lang per piece tapos ngayon sisingil ng P40?
Guy: Sabi nga P35 eh
ME: Kaya nga...hindi namin babayaran ito...
Guy: Teka sino ba 'to?
ME: Si Pia...hmmmm...pinsan ni Ces...
Guy: Pia?!? Si Joel ito...Kuya ni Ces..

Just by that, I felt my blood rushed and I know that my face just turned so red... all because of shame... So I handed the phone to mi Hielo and told her that it's her brother.. She was laughing the whole time while talking to her kuya and even told her "ang sungit naman nyan..ang taray ah..." So I turned my back and looked for some cold drink to flush that $|-|?+ away... Well, I do that because I do not want people to think that I am so easy to be persuaded by whatever they would want me to do for them. Unfortunately, I barked at the wrong tree --- BIG TIME!

It was The One of those embarrassing moments of my life and I do not want that to happen anymore.

Another week just started...

I am a day late from blogging about greeting y'all GOOD MORNING!

Yes, indeed, it was a tiring week but who can tell that this new one isn't? It has been thousands of days of stress and graveyard shift. I have never had a very decent sleep since I joined this industry. I do not regret being employed here for it supports mine's and my family's needs.

Well, all that I wanna say is that I wanna quit from this shift! I dunno how will I do it but I will find ways to get a job in the morning. Whenever...Wherever... I just wanted to have a regular life... Au naturel vie!

Again, Good morning everybody and have a very nice day ahead of you!

PS:

I will be blogging something closer to my heart tonight. Mah mind is not working fine right now...

Au revoir!

A very tiring Saturday going Sunday going Monday...haaaaayyyy...

Hey there!

It's Monday 3:19AM PH time and I could not get some sleep. I am here, right now ah, in my friend's house catching up with what's up with 'em lately.

I mentioned in my blog the other day that I will be having a very hectic weekend. Yes and it was a very tiring week. As promised, I bought some grocery items, washed my clothes, cleaned my house and changed pillow cases. Although, I did not get to play the Wii for I was really really tired that I only wanted to sleep. By the way, I had a suprise visit last Saturday and that enough stole some of my precious time but I don't care. She's the love of my life...Mi Hielo... heheheh...

Enough about her, so when I headed back to my house, I saw two ladies in front of our door. Unfortunately, I was not very familiar with them. So I just let them in while I was at their back just staring at them and then wait for their next move. If they are some strangers off the street trying to get inside our house then I have enough space from them so I can run as fast as I can. When I stepped inside, they told me that they are my new neighbors so that enough made me threw a bug sigh. Hehehe..

Around 12AM, since my neighbors were fixing their stuff, I decided to wash my clothes and finished at around 330AM. After that, I took some rest and texted mi Hielo if she arrived home safely. She replied and got home as I hoped she did. Afer receiving that message, I decided to finish Sex and the City series I have at home and a couple of hours more, the sun was up and I am done with SATC.

As I started hanging those that I washed, I just felt that my energy was still up and I just wanted to get going so I started cleaning the house. After 2 hours of cleaning and some home re-arranging, I felt like lying and sleping so I took a bath for a while then slept. Before I totally get some sleep, she texted me and greeted me a good morning. So I called her up and finally, at around 10am, I surrendered and just let myself travel dreamlandia...

I am fully aware that me and Gin will be going to Anny's place for some catching up and just plain girls night. I was still asleep when I heard my phone was ringing then I saw Gin's name blinking on my screen so I answered her. I did not notice that she has been texting and calling for hours already when I was there lying and sleeping like a log. It was very shameful that she's already in our meeting place and did not have any choice but to wait for me. So I headed to the bathroom (yes, I took a bath again!) and after 45 minutes, I was all ready to meet her.

It took me almost 30 minutes to get to Galleria then she met me in front of National Bookstore and headed to The Forbeswood Heights (if I am not mistaken ah) where Anny is living at. So we met her and even waited for The Fort Bus to pass by her place so we can all get to Market! Market! together. We went there and looked for something to feed our hungry tummies. I had rice and a viand while Anny bought the Pancit Habhab from Buddy's. It was one hell of a tasteful pancit next to bihon... hehehe..

After our dinner, we walked from Market! Market! to Anny's place. But before we could reach her place, we passed by Bonifacio High Street. The place is very pretty! I could not help but stare and be mesmerized by their architecture. We stopped three or four times but what I really admire among their architecture is the humongous rock in front of Aldo and Healthy Options (45 degrees across Aldo to its East side). I was like "can I like bathe under that rock?!?" There's water flowing from the rock as if it was from its inside. Everything about that place were amazingly GREAT! Awesome!

We had a very good time walking for it was time to rest our tired mind and feet. So we headed straight to Forbesville. But we stopped for a while and bought something from Mini Stop. When we had some of the goodies we needed, we went up and got inside the house. The distance of floor from the ceiling is I believe almost the same as that one in Cityland 9 where one of my friends once lived in. But the house's rooms are way too beautiful than those from Cityland. Enough for the prelude and some comparison, the three of us went to Anny's room to watch DVD and as planned, some catching ups. So we chose "When Love Begins" starring Aga Muhlach and Anne Curtis whike having some chit-chats. Not too long from when the movie started, Anny told us that she's gonna sleep already. Another SLAM-ber PARTY again, I said. I told Gin, "this is de javu and I would not be surprised if I will be asleep as well after Anny." So after the movie, here I am, blogging still and the sun will show up in a couple of hours and I still am in front of this laptop.

Few hours from now, Ginny bee and I are leaving this expensive flat but me, I am meeting mi Hielo for the giveaways at around 1030am. It will be the end of my weekend and I am going back to my house after we pick those mugs up.

So that was it, guys! My life has been very meaningful because of the people around me and those that are happening in my life on this planet.

Ciao for now! 'Til the next bitching...ooppss... Blogging.. Hehehehehehe

What's up with AUGUST?!?!?

Sun 8/3/2008 7:31PM

Dear All:

Please be informed that since the month of August is normally a typhoon month, we are declaring the whole month of August, 2008 as dress down month. Enjoy!

Thanks!

------------------

Yahoooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!

That email says it all! Everyone was very happy to know that they don't have to come to work dressed to kill for the guard to let us in. D'you remember anything about August other than being a typhoon month?!? When we were still students, we have this "Linggo ng wika" thingy every 2nd or 3rd week of August and that I remember so much about August.

A while ago, while I was taking my lunch break, I took time to walk going to Abbie and Kim's station. We talked and reminisced our good old high school days then we ended up talking about our Filipino subject.

Just like what other people say, Americans are good speakers in English but not all of them are as good as that in writing. Same with Pinoys. We maybe fluent in our language but that does not mean that we are good at it in writing. So our conversation started with "TUTULDOK". Not everyone knows that the Filipino translation of colon (the punctuation mark) is "tutuldok". One who joined in the convo said that "tutuldok" is the "..." aka "Ellipsis". Then our conversation went on and on doing nothing but trying to transalate some English terms to Filipino. We were all like wacko while trying to think of the Filipino translation for some English words.

Could you help us please?!?! Will you please translate the following words into Filipino in a comment form?!?

GAME?!?!?

GAME!!!

1) Noun -
2) Pronoun -
3) Verb -
4) Adverb -
5) Adjective -
5) Common noun -
6) Proper noun -
7) Predicate -
8) Simile -
9) Metaphor -
10) Personification -

Come on! Don't be such a chicken...I am not grading you anyway...Just for fun...

No cheating please....

A comforting hug...

It's Friday once again! To some it's a day to celebrate coz it's payday for most of the working Filipinos - including me. :)

Everyone has their own way of enjoying weekends. To some people, it's a day to catch up with your girlfriends - hanging out, bar hopping to name some. Others, it's just a plain weekend with a lot of loads to do - the laundry. I belong to the second group. Yes, it is so unfortunate that I have to do that load. I do not normally do my laundry on a regular day so it's quite expected to see more on Saturdays. But this time, my weekend is kinda different - weekend of laundry load with a twist. Yes, with a twist!

Well, I will still be doing my regular Saturday routine. Do the laundry, clean my place, fold some shirts and buy some stock for the week. Aside from these, I will be playing the Nintendo Wii (which I borrowed from the office) and might have some DVD marathon.

Sunday, I am ironing some clothes, going to church, sleeping after the church visit and meeting up with my BFFs late in the afternoon. Ginny bee and I are going to Anny's place for some catching ups and swimming. It's gonna be another SLAM-ber party (only my BFFs know about this...shhhhhh...)!

Monday is technically a weekend for me so I still have a day to enjoy it before I face tons of work. :-) So right after our get together, I am meeting mah baby - Mi Hielo - to pick up those giveaways for her nephew's 7th birthday. I might be having lunch with her and some catching ups as well then a tight and comforting hug to end my very hectic weekend. Sigh... How I wish it's already Monday...

So that's basically it! I am looking forward to my weekend but much more excited to feel her hugging me to ease the tireness of weekend and to wish me good luck for the week ahead. :-)

I lost my songs!!!!!

Gosh! This is one of those ugliest days of my life. I could not find the songs that were stored in my fone! Dang! I was just playing it the other day and poof! They are all gone... Now I hafta go to my PC and save them all back there. Hayyyy... I dunno how it happened...I just know that it did.

Good luck to me and my fone...

Mi Hielo y Fuego

It was our 5th month together as a couple last August 13 and yesterday, one of my people told me to go to a certain website to check if me and mi Hielo are darn compatible. And the result is:

Capricorn and Virgo

This combination has the potential to be an excellent, harmonious union. Capricorn’s ambition and reliability works well with Virgo’s perfectionism. Both are disciplined, hard working and have a strong mental connection. These two Signs respect each other and love to please one another. Sexually they are compatible with the Goat usually taking the lead. Virgos tend to dislike generalities and are acutely perceptive and analytical. This is a trait that Capricorn does not mind as they research projects and purchases together. Virgo is ruled by Mercury and Capricorn is ruled by Saturn. Mercury represents Communication and Saturn is about discipline and achieving goals. Virgo will help Capricorn by communicating openly and Capricorn teaches Virgo the focus needed to achieve goals. Virgo and Capricorn are both Earth Signs. The both have a need to be financially secure and are sensible, stable pair. Fear of financial loss tends to cement this relationship into a long-term union. If these Signs grow old together, their bond only becomes stronger.

My first blog after the very last!

Hi there!

It has been gazillion years since I last logged in to my blogspot. Well, I have other blog sites that I don't take a peek at all so this is not a shock to anybody.

Anyway, I am back and I hope that it's for good! My friend, Jimrae, asked me to check on his blogsite so I logged in and I just got interested typing in my thoughts here again.

Well, gimme a couple of hours and I will come up with a whole $|-|!+ later.

Ciao for now!

Au revoir!

PS:

I already erased all of my previous blogs... :-)
